Boston Virtual ATC Cleared for the Cause Event

From May 4-6, 2012, we'll be consistently staffing ZBW_C (Boston Center) for 60 hours! During that time, each flight plan filed will generate $1 while $0.10 will be generated each time a flight strip is passed between controllers, up to a maximum of $750. At the end of the event, whatever we have generated will be donated to BVA and a matching donation will be made to the The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

At the end of the event, the total number of pilot and controller credits will be tallied, and that amount will be donated directly to The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation by a generous BVA member who has decided to remain anonymous. While this event costs nothing but time for our members, it offers us the ability to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life while doing what we love—flying and controlling at BVA! Oh, and let's make sure we beat our tallies last year of 141 pilots, 851 flight plans, and 298 hours of combined flight time!
